Bare Wires - Idle Dreams (2012)

Impossible Things
With Her Own Eyes
Idle Dreams
Chasing Time
Julia
Don't Leave Me Here
Starting To See
Book Of Lies
Psychic Wind
Stallion Of The Streets Forever
One More Hour Of Love
School Days Are Over

Kick-ass garage rock full of glam tendencies,  sonic angular riffs and plenty of hooks (think T-Rex colliding with King Tuff ). Late to the dance on this band and this is their swan song. They broke up after a SXSW show that went badly or something close to that, shit, idunno. They have about 5 records that head is gonna investigate, so stay tuned for more. The bands leader is fronting a new band called Warm Soda. gonna have to check that out as well. enjoy

THE BARE WIRES - Seeking Love (2010)

Amplifying the pared down “smooth punk” of their 2009 debut LP Artificial Clouds, BARE WIRES nods to the bubblegum chomping, power pop stompers of ‘70s glam rock with their sophomore album Seeking Love. What started as the side project of MATTHEW MELTON and ALICJA TROUT in Memphis has now solidified as a three-piece based out of Oakland, CA with Melton, drummer NATHAN PRICE and bassist FLETCHER JOHNSON. Released on BRIAN LEE HUGHES & JOHN DWYER’s (THEE OH SEES) Castle Face imprint, the ten songs on Seeking Love boast handclap heavy, stadium-ready production reminiscent of early ‘70s glam rockers Gary Glitter and Slade, while still speaking to the sincerity and authenticity that has become Melton’s songwriting trademark.

  2. HEAD! and Gyro, thanks very much! As I age I somehow miss these great bands without your guidance. Much appreciated.

  4. I saw these guys a week or so before they broke up with about 20 people. They were pretty damn great. I'll have to check out Warm Soda.
